"TEXAS SIXSHOOTER"Bob "Daddy-O" Wade, July 1981After completing installation of the world’s largest cowboy boots at the North Star Mall in San Antonio in 1980, artist and sculptor Bob “Daddy-O” Wade made a visit to Del Rio in July 1981. Wade was giving an artist’s lecture next door at the Firehouse when it was suggested he create a sculpture for the city.
Well, lucky for us, we happened to have an empty concrete base next to the shop that looked to be the perfect location. Soon, the world’s largest “Texas Sixshooter” stood tall for all of Del Rio to see. For information about the artist, visit bobwade.com.
