Established in May 1973, Humphreys Gun Shop has been serving Southwest Texas Sportsmen for 32 years. Humphreys Gun Shop began as a part-time endeavor while owner, Gary Humphreys, was working with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. It quickly grew into a full-time business! In mid 1975, we opened the doors full-time, moving into Whites Auto Store at 600 East Gibbs Street. After several successful years at that location, in January 1978, we moved to the La Villita Shopping Center at 2400 Ave F. Continuing to grow, we then moved to our present location at 124 E. Garfield Ave., in the spring of 1981.
Humphreys Gun Shop is Del Rio\'s first and only full-time gun shop. Doing business in every state in the Union, and several foreign countries, we continue to give that personalized service that is expected in a small town atmosphere. Gary will always stop to talk with his customers, new and old - at times even pulling out a Henry or a Colt Walker during a conversation.
We also offer concealed handgun
classes. Gary is a certified, Texas Department of
Public Safety Concealed Handgun Instructor and offers
these classes at different times during the month. Please

Humphreys Gun Shops\' General Manager, Holly Humphreys, age 16, is proving to be a leader in the business. In the January of 2004 she won Silver Medal in U.S. Olympic State Championship and helped bring her rifle team to a First Place finish in District 6 of the 4-H Club. This qualified the team for state competition, they won second place. Their score placed the team in forth place all-time high score. Holly won the Clifton Lowry Best All Around Shooter award for 2004. This year 2005 she started off winning the County match which qualified her for district and then on to State to win 2nd place again this year. Holly placed 9th as Individual. Holly\'s Comstock High School Team placed 1st at the NRA Sectional at Rosenberg, Tx In February, which also place the team 13th Nationally.
